Movies and Smoking

We have all seen it, but we rarely actually realize what we are watching, big movie stars smoking on the big screen. Are tobacco companies secretly brainwashing us to think that smoking is the thing to do? well it seems to be working quite well. Big tobacco companies such as marlboro and camel have somehow snuck their products into almost all of the most popular movies, making todays teens and youth think that it is cool. These movies account for 52% of our youth to light up.
smoking in movies is a huge problem yet, it still is going on and movie producers are not doing anything about it, it seems they are getting funding for doing it, but yet both movie producers and big tobacco companies swear that no funds are transfered for the screen time.
so do the movie producers just not care about todays youth, or what is going on in their heads?

Taking all other factors into account — such as whether their parents smoke —
seeing a lot of smoking in movies tripled the odds that teens would try smoking.
• More important, exposure to smoking in the movies quadrupled the chance
that nonsmokers’ kids would start.

this fact really made me think, how can people be doing this and not caring about the new generations coming into this world, you would think that people would care a little bit, but i guess that is asking to much.
